Due to high demand for Junior places an extra session was introduced on Saturday mornings in August 2011.
Our first Club Open Day was held on Saturday 25 June 2011 from 9.30am till late evening. Normal club junior coaching was held in the morning, followed by the youth groups, then an open adult session for everyone. The day ended with a BBQ and entertainment in the evening. Despite the weather mid morning, it was a very successful day with several new members joining.
We entered a float for the Water Orton Carnival on Saturday 11 June 2011. For more details and pictures click here.
Alastair Gibbons and Dean Henningham passed their Stage 1 Coaching Awards in May 2011. The club now has three qualified coaches and five qualified assistant coaches.
The 2011 tennis season commenced on Monday 11 April and ran until October. The first newsletter was issued and is available on the Club Documentation page which informed all members of the full
programme.
The first Club AGM was held from 7.30pm to 8.00 pm on Thursday 24 March 2011 at the Water Orton Cricket Club. A good number of members attended and heard about the changes and developments for the coming season. The minutes are available on the Club Documentation page to read.
The Club entered the Spring League again in 2011. See the Results page for details of the results with not a match lost. We took a break from competitive tennis in 2010, to concentrate on improving the club facilities.
New nets were bought and put up in February 2011.
A work party was held at the Club in November 2010 to trim the hedges around the Club. This was followed by the erection of a new, higher fence at the far sides.
After the 2010 summer season the club played tennis in the evenings at floodlit Penns Lane courts until 15 November.
Our club collected and handed over to Phil Brown (the Olympic athlete) a full kit bag of tennis equipment for the children of Haiti, following the disaster there. Click here to see the full details and some photographs.
Sarah Messenger and Adam Heaton passed their Stage 2 Coaching Awards. This means that we now have three qualified coaches and five assistant coaches in the Club.
Work Parties were held at the Club on Saturday 20 and Sunday 28 March 2010 to clean the courts and clubhouse.

and Castle Bromwich Tennis Club (founded 1992)
